In a perfect world I wouldn’t have to wonder,
Wanting you would be that easy.
In a perfect world i wouldn’t have to silently wish from afar
That maybe you’d come and talk to me.
In a perfect world I could talk about you all I want,
Without all the judgmental glares.
In a perfect world I wouldn’t be in constant paranoia;
The only issue would be whether you liked me too.
But this isn’t a perfect world,
An I need to hide how I feel.
I’ll just smile and pretend it’s not killing me inside
To wonder if this could ever work out.
In a perfect world I wouldn’t have to dream
About being in a perfect world.
